Commemorative Stamps

One of the most popular ways to collect stamps is to collect the First Day Covers or Commemorative Stamps such as the ones for the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s Death which the Royal Mail have launched today! (also includes some commemorative coins) (see article here)

These stamps are usually in a set of say 6-10 designs around a given theme, such as a sporting event, a member of the royal family, an historical event, a society, a scientific discovery etc . Often they are very beautiful and mini artworks in themselves, or they may spark an interest in a subject hitherto undiscovered. Depending on the presentation pack you choose Arrowfile have a display and protect solution for every option.

For example we have refill pages with black insert card which are perfect for First Day Covers and many presentation packs RAMM2A. They have 2 pockets per refill with black inserts, the pocket sizes are 125x223mm so you could store 4 sets per refill. These refills will fit any of the Arrowfile Standard Binder Albums. Other ranges of stamps may fit better into RR2517S which has a single pocket 178x254mm with album F799, or you may prefer to keep in Vario or Grande Refills and their corresponding Binder Albums.

If you just collect FDCs then you may prefer a Bookbound album with (KF4280) or without (F4280) a matching slipcase designed just for these. To handle all your stamps constantly would soon damage the surface so why not use either cotton gloves or stamp tongs: and to view your collection why not choose from our vast range of magnifiers and microscopes.
